Carmenere is a dark-skinned grape variety originally from the vinyards of Bordeaux, and which has found a suitable home in Chile.
Carmenere needs high levels of sunshine and a warm summer to reach its full potential, but in the right environment it can produce fine ,deeply colored red wines, with the atractive meaty plumpness of Merlot and the gently herbaceous, cedary notes of Cabernet Sauvignon.
This Vistamar reserva Carmenere comes form la Moraline Estate , Peleguén in Cachapoal Andes which is a large wine-producing region in Chile. This carmenere is deep violet-red in colour with seductive aromas of spices and red fruit, gooseberries and raspberries with touches of chocolate and mocha. . The wine is smooth and friendly on the palate with touches of vanilla, silky tannins and a long ,very pleasant finish.
